Silver-plated "samovar" TABLE CANDLE. Possibly Christofle, 2 - Lot 96
Silver-plated "samovar" TABLE CANDLE. Possibly Christofle, 2nd half 19th century. With wick stove and hinged base with pin. Model with twisted sides and rocaille decoration, rocaille cartouche with scrolls, assorted foliage, flowers and reed leaves, engraved with the GL monogram. Curved lid with wavy decoration topped by a flower-shaped grip. The base rests on scrolled feet with leafy attachments, the upper part alternating openwork palmettes and latticework cartouches. CHRISTOFLE mark on the inside edge of the lid (faded). Wooden handle loose on one side (traces of glue), slight deformation of the lid. Height 41 cm.
