ODIOT, PARIS Bouillon and its gilded silver display stand (vermeil). Paris, Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot (son), 1809-1819. Circular model bordered by a frieze of water leaves. The body is flanked by two curved handles with double branches and fin-like attachments ending in scrolls, the base of the handle covered with an acanthus leaf. The slightly domed lid is centered with a flowered ring-shaped grip on a terrace of lanceolate leaves. The rim, the body and the lid are engraved with a coat of arms stamped with a marquis's crown, supported by a lion and a unicorn with the motto ''SALVA FIDE'' : on the dexter side, azure with three silver fess (Hayes de Gassart family), on the sinister side [...], shields supported by a lion and a unicorn. Marked ODIOT under the body. Wear of the gilding in places. Width (with handles) : 21 cm ; Diameter (display) : 20,7 cm. Total weight : 932.10 g.
